A Special Note

Good morning readers,

I wanted to post a short note letting you know something that has been on my mind lately: giving back. As you may have noticed, this blog has grown over the last few weeks – and with growth comes opportunity. I made the decision earlier this month to begin allowing advertisements on my blog. Additionally, I have joined some affiliate link programs – these programs allow me to generate a small commission on items purchased through the online retailer that they are linked to.

After some thought, I’ve decided to start spotlighting a different organization each month as the “Good Cause of the Month.” This organization will be identified in the sidebar (the image is hyperlinked to the donations page if you’d like to make your own contribution) and I will post about it at some point during the timeframe. Most importantly though, the organization chosen for that month will receive a portion of the proceeds received from my blog’s advertising and affiliate link revenue.

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, I’m going to be totally upfront with you: I do not know exactly what the amount will be yet. I’ve only been “monetizing” this blog for a very short time now so it’s impossible for me to determine what a standard monthly amount will be going forward until I have more data in front of me. I’m still unsure if I want to publicize the exact amount donated, but rest assured – it will be a donation of some amount.

While this blog is a source of income for me, it is equally important to give back. This month, I have chosen Save the Elephants as our “Good Cause of the Month.” I’m hopeful that we can finish this first month off strong for this organization that is dedicated to elephant conservation.

If you would like to help me in my efforts to donate, please consider using the links on the sidebar if you shop at any of those retailers. If you find an article interesting, don’t hesitate to share it with a friend. While it’s awesome for me to have more people reading my blog, it’s even better to create some good by helping out some worthy causes.

Have a wonderful Thursday friends!

Sarah
