Live Every Week Like It’s Shark Week

Last night marked the start of Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, the annual event dedicated to these fierce aquatic predators. Since 1988 this summer tradition both educates and entertains – it is now broadcast in 72 countries and is considered the longest-running cable television programming event in history.

Because Shark Week is promoted so heavily on social media, you can’t escape it. Even though I’m not a die-hard shark fan, I tune in because it’s become such a pop culture staple (by the way, was anyone else disappointed that Michael Phelps didn’t race a live shark last night? I totally thought it was going to be a real one…).

Whether you’re planning a party or just want more shark-themed decor around your house, I hunted the web to find you some items. Hopefully these products will inspire you to live every week like it is Shark Week!

(ps. this post is dedicated to my brother’s girlfriend, Kelly – the biggest fan of sharks I’ve ever met.)

Even though Shark Week is a great excuse to drink wine in sweatpants and watch hours of tv, let’s not forget that these incredible creatures need our help. Consider donating to one of the foundations listed below dedicated to shark conservation efforts so we can enjoy Shark Week for decades to come!
